• Question: You say you feed your skin cells but how do you do this and how do you know when the skin cells are fully grown?

      The technique for feeding and growing cells in the lab is called cell culture and it is similar for growing most cells in the lab. To feed cells, you put them in a solution called “media” and this media will have other things added to it that the cell will normally get from the body to grow like proteins and vitamins. You can also add antibiotics to stop them getting contaminated a bit like taking a flu jab to avoid getting the flu.

      You know the cells are growing when they start to multipy and they are fully grown when they muliply to fill the surface of the container they are kept in.
