A boil is caused by a bateria infection and usually forms when there’s a block in the hair follicle (the bit where the hair grows from). Your body sends white blood cells to fight the infection but because the bacteria has blocked the area, the cells have no where to go and they accumulate under the skin. This is what builds up to form the lump and the stuff that comes out when it burst are all the trapped cells that couldn’t escape before.
