• Question: If metorites and asteroids crashed intothe land to bring water, then would the Earth's surface be really dmamaged from the meteorites affeting the Earth?

      Hey! You are defiantly thinking like a scientist 😀

      The answer is yes! and we do see the evidence for meteorite impacts around the world. Meteor crater in America is a great example (the name helps too 😛 ). However impacts that happened a very long time ago have been eroded away and can be completely destroyed. The Chicxulub crater which is believed to be partly responsible for the death of the dinosaurs is partially in the sea now in Mexico.

      Also a lot of the water would have been delivered when Earth was still really hot and the surface of the planet would have been mainly molten lava so there would be no evidence of impacts then.
