  Skin cancer is caused by a number of things including too much sunshine over a period of time because the UV light in the sun kills the DNA in the skin, It can also be due to family history which means if somone had it once the other person may also have the gene that caused it. Also people who suffer from serious skin conditions may be more prone to getting skin cancer.
