      This is basically to do with genes and heriditary. If you inherited the recessive skin gene type from your parents rather than the dominant gene that they exhibit externally then chances are yours will probably be different. If you take a dominant gene from one parent and recessive from the other then you will exhibit the type of the parent who’s dominant gene you inherited. It’s basically all to do with genetics.

      The actual skin color of different humans is affected by many substances, although the single most important substance is the pigment melanin. Melanin is produced within the skin.

      How much Melanin is made is down to genes and hereditary as Hephzi says.
