      Any planet, comet, asteroid or feature on a planet can be named by someone if they work on it. You have to submit your name to a committee for approval and there are usually conventions on what you can name things.

      E.g. The small moons of Jupiter are all named after daughters or lovers of the Roman God Jupiter (Greek equivalent is Zeus).
