I assume the door you are talking about is made of wood? If so that is becasue when wood gets wet it expands or ‘warps’. The moisture in the air (especially in hot moist places) is enough that over time the door will naturally expand and change shape, sometimes enough to no longer fit the door frame.

For wood, this is due to the moisture in the air! The moisture allows the wood to expand, so overtime your door is now too big to fit in the doorframe.

It often also causes the ‘sweaky ‘ noises in the night time 🙂 !
